Obituary of SHEILA COCHRANE
SHEILA COCHRANE
(Nee RIACH)
Peacefully on June 28, 2017, Sheila passed away at St. Boniface Hospital.
Sheila was born and raised in Brandon, the only child of Scottish immigrants Tom and Ann (nee Keith) Riach. She was always proud of her Scottish heritage and Brandon roots. Prior to her marriage to Harry Cochrane in 1960 she worked for The Manitoba Telephone System. After her two children were grown she worked in daycare and completed her ECEC. Until her final days, a young child always brought a smile to her face.
She was predeceased by her husband of forty years, Harry Cochrane in 2000.
She will be missed and remembered by her daughter Barbara (Gordon) Tanner, her son Keith (Connie), her grandchildren, Craig, Gavin, Dana and Nicole, her special cousin Allyson in Scotland and extended family and friends.
Sheila loved being a grandmother, spending time with and supporting her grandchildren as much as possible. Family time was important; she made sure that took priority over busy lives. While her vision allowed, she was an avid reader and she always enjoyed time outdoors especially walking and picnics.
At Sheila’s request there will be a private service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
