Obituary of MARGARIDA ELEUTERIO
MARGARIDA ELEUTERIO
It is with incredible pain and sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of Margarida (Margaret) Eleuterio on July 4, 2017.
Margaret was tragically predeceased by the love of her life, George Eleuterio in October, 2015, her parents, Angelina and Luis Correia, George's parents, Maria Evelina and Laurenio Eleuterio and brother in law, Manuel Ferreira.
Margaret is survived by her beloved sons, Dennis Eleuterio (Chelsa Carter) and Jason Eleuterio (granddaughter, Jane), her sister, Luisa Ferreira and her sons, Danny and Gary (Sonia), George's sister, Grace Eleuterio and her children, Danny (Shannon), Kelly (Gene) and Nancy. Margaret also held a very special bond with her many cousins and extended family.
Margaret was born on October 8, 1956 in Sao Miguel, Portugal. She had many amazing experiences and memories in her home country. In 1970, her family immigrated to Winnipeg. She attended high school and quickly adapted to Canadian life. Margaret met her soulmate by way of her sister and brother in law. George was Manuel's friend and quickly showed interest in beautiful Margaret. They were happily married in 1976. The young couple moved into Margaret's parent’s house on Ross Avenue and soon started their family. Dennis was born in 1977. He brought a special light to his mother’s eye. George and Margaret bought their dream home in West Kildonan. Jason was born in 1981 and truly made the family full and complete. Margaret was a doting mother who was so very proud of her children. Her world revolved around her boys and her granddaughter. She offered her sons constant love and support. She was of the most sincere Roman Catholic faith and practiced religion daily. Margaret was very kind, loved to laugh and joke, talk on the phone, attend to her plants and enjoyed a good cup of coffee. She was so in love with her beautiful granddaughter, Jane and loved her visits. Her first grandson (Dennis's first born) is due to arrive in August and she was incredibly excited to welcome him to the family. Margaret was unfortunately struck by a chronic illness at an early age. She experienced kidney failure, underwent kidney transplants and then ultimately ended up dependent on Dialysis for 31 years. Margaret pressed on throughout such hardships, remained positive and still lived independently until her death. Throughout her years on Dialysis, Margaret made many friends with fellow patients and the wonderful Dialysis staff.
A very special thanks to all who were present in her treatment throughout the years. Margaret had an outstanding team of Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare and Social Workers for the duration of her medical journey. She received the highest level of care. They were able to do an incredible amount for her quality of life and she appreciated that. Thank you all for your care. The tragic loss of Margaret has left a huge void in the family, but we truly take solace that she is free of suffering due to illness and together with her love, George. Her strength, presence and memory will truly be cherished forever.
