Obituary of MILAN DRAZIC

 MILAN DRAZIC

Peacefully, surrounded with the love of his family, Milan Drazic; Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather (Deda) passed away August 13, 2017 at the age of 87, 15 days shy of his 88th birthday.

Deda was born in Velika Greda, Serbia on August 28, 1929.  He was predeceased by his parents Djuka and Petar, and brothers Duro and Nikola.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 70 years Dragica.  Children; Barbara (Mirko) Zubin, Dusan (Grace) Drazic and Mary (Dragan) Gagic.  Grandchildren; Carmen, Marcia, Susan (Mike), Peter (Erin), Mikki (Melanie), Marko (Kristin) and Filip.  Great Grandchildren; James, Luca, Jackson, Max, Jake and Kate.  Sisters in Law, Nevenka Drazic and family & Petra Drazic and family.  Sister Danica Mandic and family in Serbia.

In September of 1968 he took the opportunity to head for a new journey to Canada seeking a better life for his wife and three children allowing him to reunite with his brother Duro and family.  Brother Nikola and family joined shortly after.  After arriving in Canada, he was employed in the janitorial industry and soon thereafter became a supervisor who was very much respected and adored by all his employees and clients until his retirement.

Deda worked very hard to ensure his family, his pride and joy, had everything he could possibly give.

He was very blessed and proud of the life he accomplished here in Canada, but never forgot where he came from and became part of the Serbian church here in Winnipeg.

He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Beaconia Beach where many fond memories, great stories and good times will always be remembered and cherished.   He loved his garden, long walks, spending time with family and ensuring family traditions were fulfilled.

Deda’s own health was not without challenge and complications in last few years.  Through this, he was always happy, optimistic and his strength was that of a Superman!

The family is extremely grateful to the Kildonan Personal Care Home staff for their respectful and gentle care of our Deda.

A private service was held on August 17, 2017

Deda, may you have eternal peace as you keep a faithful watch over all of us.  Never Forgotten and forever in our hearts.  We Love You.
