ALBERT GEORGE LAURENT VANDENDORPE
Peacefully with his family by his side, Albert, beloved husband of late wife Margaret, passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on September 10, 2017 at the age of 73.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son Robert, wife Janet, (Andrew, Kelsey, Kendra), daughters Sheryl Hergesheimer, husband David, (Lindsay, Jessica) and Laureen Spitzke, husband Stuart, (Mackenna, Alex), brother Rene (Irene), sisters Annie, Simone (Ron), Mary (Rene), Angele, Germaine (Jim), sisters and brothers-in-law, Gordon (Lucille), Ronald (Lorraine), Ralph (Wanda), Ella, Edna, Barb, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Albert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret, his mother Irene, father Andrew, brother Gerard and numerous other family members from both his and Margaret`s family.
Albert was born in Winnipeg on May 7, 1944 and was raised in the Altamont District. In 1966, he married Margaret and they began their life together in Winnipeg.
Albert worked for over 30 years for CNR at the Transcona Shops. After retiring from CN he joined Enterprise Rent-A-Car where he worked for 13 more years.
Albert loved many things including playing cards, going to the casino, working in his garage or garden. He had a passion for old time dancing and spent many hours dancing with his beloved wife Margaret. They were graceful and beautiful to watch. Albert had a strong love of family and spent every holiday with his children and grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday September 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A private family interment will be held in Altamont, Manitoba.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Manitoba or a charity of one’s choice.
