MARY POWERS MAXWELL
(NEE GALE)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Powers Maxwell (nee Gale) at the Extendicare Oakview Place on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
Mary was born in El Paso, Texas on November 6, 1925. She spent her formative years in Superior, Wisconsin, moving with her family to Transcona, Manitoba in her teen years. Mary attended St. Mary’s Academy through high school graduation and also completed the stenography course, working in the x-ray department at the Winnipeg Clinic.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Campbell E. Maxwell and survived by her children Campbell, Mary (Ramie Burnell), Thomas, Patricia (Davidson), Paul and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Kelly, Cyndee, Samantha, Clinton, Jennifer, Timothy, Jason, Allen, Thomas, Jeremy, Alicia and her five great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Oakview Place, their care and support was so greatly appreciated.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Parish, 3390 Portage Avenue, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow downstairs. Private family interment at Brookside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
