Obituary of JOAN SANSREGRET
JOAN SANSREGRET
1939 – 2017
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Sansregret on November 18, 2017 with family at her side.
Joan is survived and deeply missed by her six children; Marina, Renee (Greg), Marcella, Alfred (Karen), Jason (Janice) and Vincent (Janine), and by her twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her husband Alfred, and her parents Steven and Helen.
Joan spent all of her life living and working in the North End of Winnipeg. Her strength, resilience and generosity to others signified her character. Joan was a long-time employee at Day Nursery Centre - Gretta Brown Unit. Her career in providing care to children and ensuring healthy meals spanned over thirty years. She took great pride when out in the community to regularly come across multiple generations of families wanting to acknowledge her work at the daycare.
Family meant everything to Joan, and she was at the centre our world. Her love and selfless dedication to her children and in caring for her grandchildren and extended family cannot be measured in terms of the impact, and love we have for her. Her laughter, dry sense of humor and no nonsense approach to life and its challenges will be equally missed. It is hard to imagine our family gatherings without her, but we know she will always be with us in spirit.
Joan found a great friend and many ways, a sister, upon meeting Diane Hyrnkiw. Their shared life experiences, and interest in short trips meant so much to our Mother.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and Concordia Hospital Intensive Care Unit for the care over the last two months. Some special thanks as well to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday November 23, 2017 at 7:00PM at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg.
If so desired, donations in Joan’s memory can be made to the Day Nursery Centre - Gretta Brown Unit, 336 Flora Ave., Winnipeg MB R2W 5H1
