Obituary of ALEXANDER ROZKOWIEC
Alexander Rozkowiec
May 15, 1926 – November 22, 2017
It is with great sadness that Alexander passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the age of 91 years.
He is lovingly remembered by Klementyna (Helen) his wife of 55 years of marriage, his children Christine (Bob), Andrew and Joseph; his grandchildren Blake, Jesse, Amanda and Ariana, his sister Elizabeth, nephew and nieces Peter (Darlene), Karen (Simon) and their children Chloe and Maddy and family members Tekla and her sons Edward and Richard.
Alexander was born in Belarus and after serving time as a paratrooper in World War 2, he spent several years in Argentina before being reunited with his family in Winnipeg. In 1962, he married his beloved wife Klementyna and shortly after began their family. Among his many talents, Alexander was a very skilled welder and machinist. This allowed him to enjoy a long career at Canada Packers, retiring in 1988.
Alexander was a true handyman and more, always building and fixing things at home and for others. He also loved to garden with Klemyntyna, spending hours in their yard. He spent time walking in the neighbourhood enjoying the outdoors. Church was important to Alexander and the family went every Sunday to the Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity Cathedral.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, November 28th at 4pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. An Orthodox Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, November 29th at the Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity Cathedral, 643 Manitoba Ave. at 10am and a Memorial lunch will follow the interment at Brookside Cemetery.
