Obituary of PEARL WLADYKA
PEARL WLADYKA
Peacefully, on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Misericordia Hospital, Pearl Wladyka passed away at the age of 93 years.
Pearl is survived by her son Gordon (Donna); grandchildren, Matthew (Theresa), Daniel (Melissa), Shannon (Chris) and Colette (Uma); and great-grandchildren, Brady, Cody, Alyssa and Luke. She was pre-deceased by her husband Paul; her son Ken; her parents; and her siblings, Anna, Peter, Rose, Nick, Pat, William, Lena, Metro, Jean and Alex.
Pearl was one of eleven children born to George and Mary Genyk in Fisher Branch, MB. It is here where she met and married Paul Wladyka. They later moved to Winnipeg where they built a home and raised their sons, Gordon and Ken. Pearl and Paul enjoyed many wonderful years together before his passing in 1983.
Pearl enjoyed needlework, cooking, baking, gardening, fishing and travelling. She delighted in spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Later in life Pearl met her good friend Tom Cairns and they had many experiences together from square dancing to travelling abroad.
Prayers and viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28 at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 35 Marcie Street. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
