Obituary of RUDOLF FOLGER
RUDOLF FOLGER
November 24, 1931 - January 17, 2018
With great sadness in our hearts, the family of Rudy Folger announces his passing on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Anna (Ed) Sipinski, Sonya (Ray) Hiebert; grandchildren, Richard and Melissa (Michael); step-daughter Gabi Mader and Rudy’s precious Maggie and Peppi V3 (sparrow); his sister Tina and nephew Helmut (Alina) Regel of Ontario and cousin Charlotte (Charlie) of Texas.
Rudy was predeceased by his wives Anna (1985) and Connie (2016) and leaves behind a large family of many cherished relatives and friends.
Rudy was born and raised in Munich, Germany. He immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1956 working as a machinist. In 1966, the family decided to move to Winnipeg where he worked for CP Rail until his retirement in 1993.
Dad had an absolute love of life with a sense of adventure and he especially loved the outdoors. Rudy loved fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, road trips, parties and social gatherings. Rudy’s can-do attitude in life resulted in rebuilt motors for friends, building a cottage, building trailers, camper vans and so much more.
A celebration of Rudy’s life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to the Humane Society, Animal Shelter or the Kidney Foundation.
