VICTOR LASLO GOETZ
Victor Laslo Goetz passed away January 15, 2018 at his home in Winnipeg, MB.
Victor was born February 4, 1960 in Gladstone, MB, the youngest son of John & Caroline Goetz. He grew up in Gladstone, moved with his family to Emmitsburg, MD after Caroline married Paul Sanders in 1962. After their return to Canada, he lived in Gladstone and later Portage la Prairie, where he had his first taste of military life when he joined the 575 Portage Terrier Air Cadet Squadron. In 1976 he joined the 26th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery Reserves and later joined 71 Field Battery. He served tours of duty in Bosnia. After his discharge from the Armed Forces in 1997, he attended Red River College Culinary Arts program. He was employed at Canad Inns until his health prevented him from continuing his cooking career. He married Tina Davos on April 4, 2014.
Victor was predeceased by his parents, John (1961) and Caroline (1982).
He will be missed by his wife Tina; sisters: Carol (Gordon) Ogilvie; Margaret (Bryan) Brooks; Betty (Jack) McDowell; Mary Lynn (John) Busch; Joan (Alan) Johnston; brothers: John (Leanne); Edmund (Nancy); Tony (Evelyn); Joe (Michelle); Ron (Donna) Sanders and well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Victor’s life will take place in Gladstone, MB on Monday, May 7th at United Church Annex with interment to follow. Time has not yet been confirmed and will be posted at a later date.
