Obituary of ALBERT ROTHENBERGER
ALBERT ROTHENBERGER
With great sorrow we announce the death of our dear husband, father and grandfather Albert Rothenberger on January 25, 2018.
He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Victor and John. Albert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lillian; his son David (Deb); daughter Lorraine (Tom); and six grandchildren.
Albert was born and educated in Winnipeg. He first worked for the Winnipeg Free Press in various positions but joined the Seven Oaks School Division after completing his education at the U of M. There he worked for 35 years as a teacher, vice principal and finally as principal of West Kildonan Collegiate.
Albert was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served on the council in various positions for 18 years. He was a member of the board of Luther Home for 42 years from its inception. He served as secretary, treasurer and finally as chairman. When his days of service ended he continued to be a regular visitor to many of the residents where he is remembered for his cheerfulness and humour.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor D.E. Engel officiating.
The family wishes to thank the administration and nursing staff of Luther Home for their kindness and love in caring for Albert.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert’s memory may be made to Luther Home.
