Obituary of LEOPOLDO GUEVARA
Leopoldo “Eddie” Guevara passed away at Concordia Hospital on January 24, 2018 at age 74.
Eddie is survived by his three children, Leovie, Leonila (Rico) and Leo (Rizza); seven grandchildren, Eric, Jordaine, Tyra, Claire, Maliah, Zayden and Zander; sisters, Rosalinda and Carmelita; nieces and nephews; as well as many other extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his sister Lourdes and wife Victoria “Betty” Guevara. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, uncle and a good friend.
He was born April 26, 1943 at Pasig City Philippines. Eddie was a hardworking man and a good provider for the family. He moved to Canada in 1974 to give his family a better life. He worked as a Fitter Welder at Dominion Bridge, Lead hand Welder at CN Rails and as a Security guard for Commissionaires. In his younger years, he loved bowling, fishing, hunting and golf.
The family expresses sincere thanks to the staff at the Seven Oaks and Concordia Hospitals, the homecare staff and to The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy.
The viewing (lamay) will be on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 12:00 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery and Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
