Obituary of KEN BIEGUN
KEN BIEGUN
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Ken on January 30, 2018 at the age of 62 years. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion appreciated by all who knew him.
Ken is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Bev; his sons, Wade (Kathy), Jeff (Jasmine), Justin, Evan, and Morgan; his mother Dallas; his brothers Tony (Lorraine) and Darren; his grandchildren Jackson, Terra, and Ivy; his cousins, other family, friends, and colleagues. He was recently predeceased by his father, Anthony.
Ken was born in Winnipeg, and attended St John’s High School. Upon completing his education at Red River College, Ken spent over thirty years as a technician in Electrical Engineering at the University of Manitoba. His expert guidance was beneficial to many, and his influence is present in all the projects he worked on with professors and students over the years.
While family was his first love, Ken was a passionate guitarist who enjoyed sharing his gift as both a teacher and a friend. Ken played with many musicians over the years, and could most recently be seen playing with The Inclines. He loved performing on stage; his joy was felt in every note he played, and was echoed in his smile.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, on Wednesday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m.
Those who so desire may make donations in Ken’s memory to either Crohn’s and Colitis Canada or Prostate Cancer Canada.
