Dear Rose, Reuben, Crystal & Family,
We were both very sorry to hear of Ken's passing. My mother Evelyn has fond memories of babysitting Ken as a toddler when your Uncle Bob was born in 1950. Ken was brought out to the farm to stay with Grandpa Bill and Grandma Annie and my mother, who was 17 at the time watched over him as if he was her own. Ken called her "Antsy (for Auntie)" and followed her everywhere as they cared for the animals and hooked up the horse, Duke, to the stone boat and drove to get the mail. My memories of Ken, of course, are when he was much older as he was 10 years my senior. I remember very vividly him playing the bongo drums and singing "Raspberries Strawberries" by the Kingston Trio and I was so impressed with his singing voice and musical abilities. I thought he was so cool this older cousin of mine! A lot of time has passed since we last saw all of you but we look at family photos and Mom reminisces about the farm and the many adventures Ken and his brothers and cousins had on the farm. We know it must be a very difficult time for you and your families but we hope we can give you some small measure of comfort in the fact that Ken was loved and cherished throughout his life and his spirit lives in our memories and in our hearts forever. May God keep you and hold you close during the days ahead. Kindest regards, Kim and Evelyn Gorius
