Obituary of STEPHEN SPITZER
STEPHEN SPITZER
July 31, 1918 – February 13, 2018
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Stephen Spitzer in his 99th year after a brief illness at Concordia Hospital.
Steve was predeceased by wife Olive; sisters, Helen Martens and Rose Hradowy; and brother-in-Walter Martens. Steve is survived by his loving niece Jocelyn Preston; special friend Janis Klassen; and nephew Glenn Martens and family.
Steve was born in Winnipeg and married to Olive for 56 years. As a young man he served in the army as Staff Sergeant Instructor stationed in Hamilton during WW11. Steve was employed by Bristol Aerospace in 1951 and retired in 1983 as Production Foreman. Upon retirement, Steve enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Mexico with Olive. Steve’s generosity benefitted many charitable organizations over the years.
Deepest gratitude to the Home Care Team who enabled Steve to remain in his home despite some health challenges.
A Celebration of Steve’s Life will take place Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
