Obituary of ERLINDA (Linda) TINGZON ORTIZ
ERLINDA (Linda) TINGZON ORTIZ
We announce the passing of ERLINDA (“Linda”) TINGZON ORTIZ, 78 years old, who has joined our Creator on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. She was born on April 22, 1939 in Manila, Philippines. She was predeceased by her parents, Ricardo and Elioteria, and brother, Pedro. She is survived by her loving husband, Honesto, children, Roger (Donny) Villanueva, Harry (Milalisa) Ortiz, Emmaline (Joey) Ortiz-Millar, and Ethel Segunda Ortiz. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Harold (Vicen) Ortiz, Hazel Ortiz and Harriet Ortiz, and great-grand children, Harvy Ortiz and Jayce Ortiz.
Linda was a devoted wife, a very loving mother/grandmother, a caring friend/relative/neighbour. Fondly called as “Sister Linda” by her peers, she was actively involved in Our Lady of Fatima Church community in Bangkal, Makati, Philippines until she moved to Winnipeg in 2013, along with her husband (Nesto) and youngest daughter (Goody). Neighbours in Bangkal loved seeing Linda & Nesto’s daily bonding moments: sweetly holding hands together while walking everyday going to and from the wet market. Linda always loved to sing and dance, and taking care of all her grandchildren. She’s generous to a fault as she always share her blessings to friends and relatives without expecting something in return. We will always remember her as a bubbly, full of life and high spirited person. She’s always happy and cheerful.
Wake/Lamay (Viewing) will be held at the Cropo Funeral Chapel (1442 Main St) on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. The following day (Saturday, February 24th), a 1:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church on Keewatin Street and then her remains will be finally brought to the Crematorium.
Our family would like to thank the relatives and friends for all the condolences and help extended. Special thanks to CancerCare of Manitoba doctors and staff, and the WRHA Home Care Community Attendants who cared for and supported Erlinda.
