Obituary of HUMBERTO LIMA
HUMBERTO LIMA
1938-2018
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Humberto Lima, beloved husband, father, and grandfather on Thursday, February 22, 2018 after a brief illness.
Humberto was born in Portugal on September 1, 1938 and was married for 53 years to the love of his life Maria Otilia Lima. He will be missed greatly by his wife Maria, daughter Anabela (Valdemar), grandchildren Leana and Evan (Amanda), along with his sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Humberto immigrated from Portugal to Winnipeg in 1969 to build a better life for his wife and daughter. He worked at Dowse Woodworking and at Dormond Industries Ltd. before retiring in 2000. He cherished the weekly get-togethers that he would have with his family, as well as he enjoyed keeping active by taking daily walks and bike riding in the summertime.
We would like to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors in the oncology department at Concordia Hospital for their kindness, excellent care, and compassion at the end of his life.
Prayers will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 2, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street North at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Humberto’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Dad you will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We will love you forever.
