Obituary of JOAO SOARES
JOAO SOARES
João Soares was born in São Miguel Azores on February 3, 1938 and passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on March 7, 2018 in West St. Paul MB.
João was predeceased by his parents Manuel & Carolina Soares and his younger brother Manuel Jr. as well as his loving wife Maria Leonilde Soares.
João will be deeply missed by his daughters Connie (Michel) Maria (Art) Carolina (Phil) and Susie (Jason) along with his grandchildren Calum, Nicole, Nora, Luke and Erik.
João and Maria Leonilde were teenage sweethearts, they later married on April 23, 1964 and spent 48 years happily creating a loving life together. They immigrated to Canada in 1972 with their three daughters and welcomed a fourth daughter in Canada. Dad’s greatest joy was his family. Our mom was the love of his life and dad was heartbroken when mom passed away in 2012.
Our dad was a man of integrity, his word was his bond and we could always count on him.
While we will miss dad dearly we take comfort in knowing that dad is now reunited with his soulmate in heaven.
Thank you to the pallbearers Gerald Boisvert, Calum Boisvert, Arthur Jordan, Phillip Thomas, Jason Stevens and Jose Medeiros. Also thank you to father Andre Lico.
