Obituary of JAMES (JIM) ZABOROSKI
JAMES (JIM) ZABOROSKI
James (Jim) Zaboroski passed away peacefully on September 6 at 79 years of age.
Jim was much loved and will be greatly missed by family and many friends. Devoted husband for 58 years to Evelyn, loving father of Sean and his wife Beata, (extra!) proud grandpa of his new grandson Harrison and dear brother of his sister Stella Slimmon (Don) and his sister-in-law Ann Chubey. Jim was predeceased by his father Walter, mother Jessie, and younger brother Frank.
Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Shyshkowich Council and St. Joseph’s Mens Club.
Jim was kind, had a big heart and was always quick to help others. Jim worked as a skilled and respected machinist for CNR (Transcona) for 38 years. Upon retirement, he was an expert handyman that loved spending time working in his garage while listening to classical music.
Thank you to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and the devoted health care workers for their compassionate and dedicated care.
All brother Knights are to consider themselves Honorary Pallbearers. Active Pallbearers will be Raymond Honeybun, Ed Ozubko, Ed Fraseruk, Denis Swistun, Dwayne Dahl and Sandy Boychuk. Crossbearer will be a Brother Knight.
Prayers will be held at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave., on Tuesday, September 11th at 7 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated also at St. Joseph’s Church, on Wednesday, September 12 at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow and Jim will be interred at Brookside Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bishop Vasyl Velychkovsky Shrine or a charity of your choice.
