Obituary of PETER KUTZY
PETER KUTZY
December 24, 1918 - April 17, 2018
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Peter Kutzy. Peter passed away peacefully on April 17, 2018 in his 100th year.
He leaves to mourn daughter Lorraine Graham (Roger), son Allen, grandchildren Reid (Sydnie), Evan (Dorothy), Bryn, Brooke and sister Nell. Peter was predeceased by wife Helen, brothers John, Mike, Nick, sisters Mary, Ann and Dorothy.
Peter was born on a farm in Moosehorn, Manitoba on December 24, 1918. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for five years in World War II with field assignments in Comox, Lethbridge, Cold Lake, Uplands and Churchill before discharge in 1945. After the war he worked as a locomotive fireman and was then hired by MacDonald Bros. Aircraft Ltd. in 1947. He trained in San Francisco, CA and Fort Worth, TX to enhance his skills as a helicopter technician. He continued to work for the same company which became Bristol Aerospace from which he retired in 1984.
Peter was always busy with his many hobbies and interests. He was a member of the Foresters Club 373 where he called his share of bingo games. He was an accomplished golfer successful in many tournaments. He enjoyed camping with the family throughout North America with Falcon Lake being a regular destination with its beautiful golf course. Early mornings at the lake spent golfing and afternoons dedicated to taking the children waterskiing. Peter created fond memories with family travelling to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii and Mexico to name a few. He was talented at building, repairing and creating. His woodworking and stained glass artwork cherished. From now on when something needs repair his grandchildren will no longer use their go-to phrase “Papa can fix it”.
The family would like to thank Dr. Fred Olynyk, Dr. David Haligowski, Concordia Village and Middlechurch Home for their care.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to a charity of your choice.
Papa we love you and you will be missed.
A celebration of life planned for June. Please contact family.
