Obituary of LAWRENCE (LARRY) ROGER ZELINSKY
LAWRENCE (LARRY) ROGER ZELINSKY
OCTOBER 21, 1947 – MAY 24, 2018
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Larry Zelinsky on May 24, 2018 at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Left to cherish his memory and mourn his passing are his wife Sharon, sons Glen (Kelly) and Colin, grandchildren Kassidy, Lexan, and Briella, brother Edward (Wanda) and sister Sharon, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Larry has now reunited with his father Metro, mother Olga, and brothers David and Alvin.
Larry was born in Winnipeg on October 21, 1947. He attended Springfield Collegiate Institute, married his love Sharon Lucenko on September 1, 1973, and they started a family in 1979. He worked as an Elevator Constructor all of his life, working hard to support his family until retirement in 2002. Larry was always busy around the yard, fixing something in the garage, cutting grass, and maintaining a garden. He always enjoyed a few cold beers, and if you stopped by he would have a few for you as well, guaranteed. He had a great sense of humour, and always tried to make people laugh. He loved the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and followed the team with great interest. He will be sorely missed.
As per Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg on Saturday, June 2 at 3 p.m. Private interment to take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
