Obituary of JEAN KNYSH
Jean Knysh (Kowaliuk)
1927-2018
Peacefully in her sleep on July 14, 2018 Mom passed away. She is survived by daughter Pam (Bryan), grandchildren Jordan and Delaney, sister Helen Anniuk , brother in law Stephen Knysh (Janice) and many nieces and nephews. Mom is predeceased by husband Michael, son Dennis, her parents Mary and Andrew Kowaliuk, her sisters Anne and Helen and brother Walter.
Mom was born in Stuartburn Manitoba, lived in Gardenton until her late teens then moved to Winnipeg where she worked at Nutty Club, Paulin Chambers and then The Fashion Shop. She and dad married in 1950 and enjoyed 54 years together. Mom loved to go on road trips, golf, bowl, play bingo and go to the casino where her golden horseshoe almost always prevailed.
For the past 3 years Dementia had taken over Mom’s life. Throughout her illness she remained her happy-go-lucky self, always positive and smiling and eager to partake in the next adventure. Heartfelt thanks to the 5th floor staff at Lions Manor Supportive Housing for taking such good care of mom. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday July 20, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral at 1175 Main Street. Interment to follow in Glen Eden. Pallbearers will be Jordan Mansky, Rob Sheldon, Jamie Sheldon, Daniel Sheldon, Mike Lasko, Brian Demaniuk and Dean Anniuk.
We all miss you mom but take comfort in knowing you are probably already enjoying a golf game with dad and uncle Nick in the heavens above. Love you forever.
