Monica Henrietta Mason
July 29, 1951 - July 25, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monica Henrietta Mason, beloved wife of Vivion Mason. Monica passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at the age of 66. Along with her husband she will be deeply missed by her children Kathleen, Leslie (Jonathan), Trina and Stephanie; her grandchildren, Shae, Mateio, Josiah, Kianna, T’enna, Kierra and Zavia; her brothers Michael, Franklyn (Jannetta), Martin, Daniel and Cecile Davidson and sisters Angela, Susan and Theresa (Joseph), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents James and Mildred Davidson.
Monica was born July 29, 1951 in Trinidad and Tobago, and in 1970 came to Canada where she married her soulmate for 45 years. Monica worked most of her life at Manitoba Health Service Commission where she made lifelong friendships. She was a strong believer in God and loved cooking, baking, shopping and Sunday suppers with the family.
Monica was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a hallmark to her children and grandchildren, and was always happy to give advice or just check in. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Health Science Centre –SICU department for their attention and care while she was there.The family would also like to thank all of her many family and friends for all their love and support over the years.
Visitation and Viewing will be held Friday August 10 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 11; Viewing 10:00 a.m. and Service 11:00 a.m. at New Anointing Christian Fellowship, 1425 Manitoba Ave. with Bishop Joseph Thompson and Pastor Edwin Wiebe officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave.
