LENA SOKOLIWSKI
With sadness the family announces the passing of Lena Sokoliwski (Koniak) on September 21, 2018.
She was born in Gardenton, MB on January 6, 1935.
As a young girl she came to Winnipeg to seek employment. She spent most of her time working in restaurants. She made many customers her friends. Lena enjoyed music and sports.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, Lena and Nick Koniak, also by her brother John and four other young siblings.
Lena is survived by two brothers, Bill and Nick (Nettie) and a sister-in-law Mary, a niece Carol (Kevin), three nephews Brian (Irene), Michael (Patty), and Dennis, four grandnieces Charlene (Glenn), Heather, Amanda and Samantha (Jessie), grandnephew Jordan, also by a special friend Wilma.
The family thanks the doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital, floors 4 and 7.
Funeral Service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018, with Rev. Fr. Oris Naherniak officiating. Interment to follow in St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, 3 miles south of Gardenton, Manitoba.
Flowers are gratefully declined. You may make a donation to a charity of one’s choice.
