Obituary of LOUISE ESTHER COUTU
LOUISE ESTHER COUTU
November 9, 1951 - October 18, 2018
On Thursday, October 18, 2018, with her friend by her side, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, friend, acting teacher, actor, co-worker and playwright.
Louise will be lovingly remembered by her sons Dan Fisher, Jesse Fisher (grand children Justin and Carly), mother-in-law Shirley de Balinhard, cousin Brent Gushoway and Peggie-Anne. She was predeceased by her loving and deeply missed partner Jamie Cugnet, her son Benjamin, her mom
Reta Coutu and sister Colleen Coutu.
Louise was a loving mother, loyal friend and employee, a gifted actress, playwright and acting teacher. She participated in and produced plays for the Fringe Festival and loved to see as many plays as she could fit in. She was also active in Actors Showcase actually anything to do with acting she was involved. She worked at an animal hospital, was a dental assistant, a lawyer’s office, worked for many dance studios, and worked for Constant C Technology group as office manager for 15 years. She was happy to end her career at the North Pointe Douglas Women's Resource Centre, contributing to her community in a direct and meaningful way. She poured her soul into it and was excited to see the difference it made in some lives.
Louise was always 100% on your side and had your back unconditionally. She respected you and made anyone she met feel completely at ease, not judged and saw your potential and encouraged and believed in you. She was generous, a hard worker, resourceful, could be trusted unconditionally and was fiercely independent. She was acutely aware and in touch with the human condition, was well read and on top of all that was going on in the world. Her sense of humour, knowledge and insight will be missed.
Louise also loved and found great joy in rescuing ferrell cats her "Kitties". She loved to sit with them in the sun and was mesmerized by their behaviours.
A special thank you to Louise's friend Barbara Daurie for her friendship and assistance the last few months. Louise appreciated the visits and outings.
A Come and Go Celebration of Louise’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 30 between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at the Winnipeg Winter Club 200 River Avenue Winnipeg, MB R3L 0B2.
Memorial Donations in may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society and The North Pointe Douglas Women's Centre.
