My deepeset condolences for your family’s loss. I just want to share you one of our brief moments whenever I work with Mr James. Last December, I remembered telling him about Christmas cards. I said, “You know what in our generation, sending cards are not a thing anymore, because these are old fashioned already, but it’s nice to see it’s still existing.” He then replied, “I don’t know about fashioned, but I definetely know I’m old.” And we laughed about it.

Sincere condolences to the family on behalf of the Costume Museum of Canada.
Personally I knew Dorothy very well, having been part of the Dugald Fashion Review
for many years and even now I still commentate the show. I met Mr. James many times over the years when the museum was still located in Dugald and found him charming, and of course was aware of his commitment to the Museum as well as Dorothy's.
You might be interested to know that we still operate with the collection being held in a secure curatorial correct location, and have an entirely volunteer operated Board and volunteer workforce with an office and workspace at 250 McDermot Ave. We still exhibit twice a year free to the public and find that free will offerings at these exhibits offer more to us than gate takes.
I know you Dad was one of the founding members and we, who still are dedicated to the CMC, are forever grateful to those Pioneers who spent their time and energy to make the Museum happen.
You may be further interested to know that we finance ourselves to a great degree by growing the CMC Heritage Fund through the Winnipeg Foundation.
Again we offer you our thanks and memories for Wilfred Gordon James's efforts over many years.
Sincerely,,
Margaret Mills
