Obituary of PAULINA KUNZ
LENA (PAULINA) KUNZ
Mrs. Lena (Paulina) Kunz (nee Gottfried) died peacefully at home on February 19, 2019 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 99, just shy of her 100th birthday.
Lena is survived by her children Ken Kunz (Kim), Dwayne Kunz (Brenda), Sharon Lamonaca (Mario), Ed Kunz (Gloria), Lorraine New, (Janice Kunz). Lena is also survived by her sister Rose Rostek and her brother Joe Gottfried and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband George Kunz and her son George Kunz Jr.
Lena was born on April 18, 1919 in Meleb, Manitoba. Lena fell in love and married George, her sweetheart, a bond that would last for 66 years. Lena was a kind and loving Grandma to her many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved volunteering her time at Fred Douglas Lodge and St. Peters R.C. Church. Everyone loved her stories about life. She always had a “nothing is going to hold me down!” attitude. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church on 748 Keewatin Street, with viewing commencing at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life.
