Obituary of GEORGE DJURO OBRADOVIC
Djuro (George) Obradovic
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather Djuro (George) Obradovic.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Aurelia, by their four children Thelma (Brian), Blanche (Zbig), Michael (Shannon) and Maranda (Josh); 9 grandchildren; Amanda, Ryan, Samantha, Courtney, Shawn, Kaitlyn, Meghan, Mo and Ellis.
Djuro was born in Croatia and immigrated to Canada in 1960. He worked as a machinist for most of his life. He loved watching sports, paid attention to politics and kept active. He enjoyed biking, walking and meeting friends for coffee. He was fluent in many languages, loved to socialize with new people and enjoyed going back to Europe to visit family. Djuro will be remembered for his great sense of humour and the many laughs that he shared with his family and friends.
We will gather for a viewing and wake service at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Tavelic Croatian Church, 2688 Main St on Wednesday, October 23 at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St. with reception to follow in the church hall.
The family extends their thanks to the Cardiology and Cardiac surgeon unit at St. Boniface Hospital.
