Obituary of ROSE MARIE TYMCHYSHYN
ROSE MARIE TYMCHYSHYN
On October 29, 2012 at Bethania Personal Care Home, sadly Rose Tymchyshyn, passed away at the age of 85.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Victor and youngest son Lloyd as well as her brother John Bordian.
She is survived by sons, Greg, Dennis, Mark and daughter Wendy as well as grandchildren, Corey, Characie, Chris and Selina, brother Jim Bordian and sister Lena Cook.
Rose was born on September 21, 1927 in Calder, SK, the middle child of three, until little Jimmy came along. She liked going to school dances and celebrated life. She graduated in 1944/45. Summer trips for a great Ukrainian wedding in Saskatchewan were always looked forward to. Rose worked at Air Canada for a short while and that is where she met her husband, Victor. Once married, Rose had to quit because at that time, two employees could not be married. There were many stories of motorcycle trips, bowling tournaments and curling bonspiels. Rose gave birth to five children, Greg, Dennis, Wendy, Mark and Lloyd. Our family was not allowed to have any pets because Mom always said she already had 5 animals. She was a long time parishioner at Immanuel United where she went to church every Sunday. Rose had a huge and plentiful garden. The unbelievable rhubarb patch can still be seen in Wendy’s yard. Rose always took great pleasure in travelling. Her cruising years were most enjoyable. To pass her time, Rose became an avid crafter and puzzler. After a couple bottles of wine with Mark and Elfie, Rose would make that puzzle piece fit. As a part of the community Rose was a member of the Ramoli Club and all the neighbors thoroughly enjoyed the home made wine when it was Rose’s turn for cards. The Kenora Club was another one of Rose’s favorite get togethers. Other hobbies included reading, knitting, crocheting, crowhooking, bingo, gambling bus tours, word search puzzles as well as trips to the lake. Rose never ever complained. She made many new friends in her home at Bethania and we would like to thank all the staff for their great patience and compassionate care and understanding. Rose will be sadly missed but her wooden spoon won’t be!
