Obituary of EDNA GRAY
EDNA GRAY (NEE SPRINGALL)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandma on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Mom passed in her sleep in her own bed exactly as she would have wanted.
Mom was born May 13, 1927, in Norwich, England. She carried a special place in her heart for England, as well as her many nieces and nephews who survive her there.
Mom came to Canada with our Dad Bill and daughter Linda in 1954. Mom was predeceased by our Dad in 2005.
Edna is survived by daughters Linda Engstrom (Wayne), Susan Desjardins (Jim), Bonny Gray (Ron Shelby); grandchildren Angela (John), Kevin, Chris (Brittney), Ashley, Ryan (Maylia), Tyler; great-grandchildren Matthew, Sophie, Brody and Brenna.
Mom lived independently despite some health struggles –for which she never complained.
As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
Mom you will leave a void in all of our lives. We will always love and miss you.
For when I’ve come to the
end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile,
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile.
Forget unkind words I have spoken;
Remember some good I have done.
Forget that I ever had heartaches,
And remember I've had loads of fun.
Forget that I stumbled and blundered,
And sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought some hard battles;
And won, ere the close of the day,
Then forget to grieve for my going;
I would not have you sad for a day.
But in summer just gather some flowers
And remember the place where I lay.
And come in the shade of the evening,
When the sun paints the sky in the west.
Stand for a few moments beside me,
And remember only my best.
Don’ t cry for me cause you
think that I'm gone.
I’m free now ...
Miss me a little, but not long
Miss me ... but let me go.
