THEODORE HERBACHUK
September 7, 1933 - November 4, 2012
Ted Herbachuk, beloved father of Rob Herbachuk, peacefully passed away with his family at his side on Sunday November 4, 2012, at Concordia Hospital at the age of 79.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dorette, sister Beverly and his two parents, Fred and Bess.
He leaves to mourn his son Rob (Janet), grandchildren Adrienne (Thomas) and Robert (Aka T.J.), sister Pat Thompson, as well as his Aunts Delores Daniels and June Mihalchuk, brother in law Tom Johnston of Bermuda and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ted was born in Winnipeg on September 7, 1933. Ted grew up in Winnipeg where he graduated from St. John’s High School. Ted married Dorette on September 26, 1959. They gave birth to their son Rob on March 10, 1962. Ted worked hard throughout his career. He worked for 18 years at Blackwood Beverages, Polar Beverages and Silver Lake Beverages as a Sales Supervisor and Manager. Later in Ted’s career he worked for Monarch Coin Equipment and Intercity Leisure. Ted enjoyed camping, fishing and spent many summers enjoying time at the lake with family and friends. Following his retirement Ted enjoyed playing cribbage with his good friend Bob, playing pool at the Senior’s Center, and driving the golf cart around during his summers at the lake. He was very good at and enjoyed solving puzzles.
The family would like to thank all the staff for all the care and attention they gave Ted during his extended stay at Concordia Hospital.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A celebration of Ted’s Life will be on Thursday November 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow at Little Britain Cemetery, 5879 Main Street, where both Ted and Dorette will be laid to rest.
