To the Perry Family, I have very fond memories of Mrs. Perry as the principal at Wayoata School. Her smile would light up the room. I can still see her clapping and singing during school assemblies. I was fortunate in later years to meet up with Rev. Edna Perry through the Transcona Legion. She was a trail blazer that forged a path for those that followed behind her. A truly wonderful lady who will be missed by many.

John and Darlene, Sheldon and Glenys, Keith and Catherine and your extended families,
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. She was such a caring and thoughtful person. I have a memory of her delivering a meatloaf to my home as I was recovering from a car accident. I could hardly believe she would go to all that trouble! You must have a tremendous wealth of memories to treasure. Take care.

I'm so sorry to hear of Edna's passing. She and my mom had a special friendship and when my mom passed, Edna and Jack were down south. They sent a beautiful card that she picked out, which I still have today. Then when my brother Don passed in 08. I asked Edna if she could come to the house to say a prayer for Don, just something casual, as we were going to have an outdoor celebration of life. Edna showed up in full vestments, and turned our gathering into something totally amazing. Just as we were about to start, the skies opened up. Edna just laughed, stood in the rain and carried on, pausing only long enough for us to carry the food inside. She was a truly kind and amazing woman. I'm so sorry I am unable to attend her service. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you.

It is with very heavy hearts that we offer our deepest sympathies to Edna's family and friends. Edna has always been an integral part of our lives and we are so thankful for her everlasting Love and guidance throughout our lives. But you couldn't expect anything less of such amazing individual. She was such a caring, compassionate person that always put others before herself. Edna would make you feel as if you were a part of her family and you were as special as any one in the room. Her smile would light up the room and her sense of humour always there to make you feel at ease. She was a trail blazer that opened many paths for others to follow. Yet, with all the many accomplishments and achievements throughout her life she never once blew her own horn. We always enjoyed our many visits with Edna at Middlechurch and especially reading her book to her. Her eyes would light up with the vivid memories and OH, that beautiful laugh would ring throughout the room. Edna, thank you for being a part of our lives and you will always hold a special place in our hearts.

To John, Sheldon, Keith and their families
Today is both a sad and happy day. Sad for the loss of your mother but happy because she has reached her final destination in life and is with God.
She was like a mother and friend to our family in our good times and our rough times.
I will miss our conversations and bringing her lilacs in the spring. We both loved lilacs and every spring when the lilacs appear I will smile knowing how blessed I am that she was part of my life.
With all my love,
Susan Horbatiuk

My condolences to the Perry family. Mrs Perry was my teacher in grade 5 at Wayota in 1964. We had just moved to transcona and my mom passed away three weeks later. Mrs Perry was wonderful and knew just what to say to me and to this day I am thankful for her kindness. RIP Mrs Perry . Tanis Goretzki (Tuckett)

What a great lady Edna was! I have so many wonderful memories of your Mom as I was growing up. I also was fortunate to work with her as an adult and learned so much from her. She touched so many people throughout her life. Thank you for sharing Edna with all who knew her!

Dear John, Sheldon, Keith and families,
Greg and I are very sorry for the loss of your dear Mum and family matriarch. Edna was beautiful, devoted to her family, her pupils, church and to my hometown of Transcona, Manitoba. My siblings (Peter and Susan) and I lived in our first childhood home just two doors away from your family on Regent Avenue East. In those days, those "doors" were just empty lots and gosh, did we have fun running back and forth to play. Such memorable high jinks ! Edna's wonderful memoir, A Prairie Girl's Life: The Story of The Reverend Edna Lenora Perry, says it all. Sadly, when our father, Peter Bachinsky, died of leukaemia at the age of 37 on August 8, 1953, Jack and Edna helped our mother and Ukrainian-immigrant grandparents enormously. Plus as an added bonus, years before I met my husband, Greg, Edna had taught him Science at Lord Selkirk School in Elmwood. To this day, our family friendship endures and your parents' good influence upon us remains profound. Our family is blessed to have known Edna.
Vichnaya pamyat ("forever remembered"),
Greg & Evelyn (nee Bachinsky) Kozoriz
