TINNIE MALYNA

Obituary of TINNIE MALYNA

TINNIE MALYNA Tinnie Malyna departed gently from her earthly life surrounded by her family, on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years. Tinnie Malyna (nee Kulbaba) was born on August 19, 1925, the fourth child of John and Theodora Kulbaba of Sand Hill, MB. After spending her early years on the family farm, Tinnie moved to Winnipeg, where she worked at Western Packers. Tinnie married John Malyna in 1948 and they had three children, Cheryl Linda, Betty Lynn and John Robert. Tinnie’s world revolved around her family, and she was very proud of her son-in-law John and grandsons Craig and Ken. While running the family household, Tinnie also worked for many years at Eaton’s Mail Order and later at the Hudson’s Bay downtown store in the children’s shoes department. She enjoyed these jobs, particularly helping youngsters as they were fitted with their first pairs of children’s shoes. In addition to her husband of 64 years and her children, Tinnie is survived by one sister Olga Wusaty (Leonard) and numerous cousins. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Seven Oaks Hospital (3rd Floor – Units 4 and 5) and at the Maples Personal Care Home (Unit 2 West), and appreciate very deeply those who came to visit Tinnie during her stay in the hospital and at her new home. Prayers will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 8th at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Gene Maximiuk officiating. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 9th at 9:00 a.m. also at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery. "Yes, be sad that she is gone, but also be happy that she was here".
