MARIJA VRBANIC
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mama Marija Vrbanic January 21, 2020 at the St Boniface Hospital at the age of 90.
Mama is survived by her six children Janja, Kate (Martin), Mira, Barbara (Drago), Mike, Jelena (Glen). 15 grandchildren, Bobby (Sarah), Christine (John), Michael (Lauren), Marko, Barbara (Chris), Joey (Susan), Martina (Michael),Christopher (Joana),Stephen, Amanda (Devon), Nichole (Mike),Anthony (Kayla) Meaghan, Mitchell (Kristina) Derek, and 21 great-grand children and her sister Zorka. Mama was predeceased by her husband Ivan. Mama was born in Silkovaca Croatia December 27, 1929.
Mama immigrated to Canada with three daughters in June 1959 she later had three more children. She always worked very hard while raising her children. Mama loved cooking and baking she always had masnica and apple strudel for any family function. Mama was always the one to surround herself with family and friends. Family was very important to her.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses in palliative care at the st Boniface Hospital especially Alexa and Allison for their care and compassion for our mother in her last days.
Death leaves hearth ache that does not heal,
Love leaves a memory no one can steal!
Prayers will be said on Friday, January 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street
