I recently heard of Mr. Lovelace’s passing this year. Out all the teachers I had, not just high school, Mr. Lovelace was my favorite. I always had him laughing - that laugh was so contagious too! I had a conversation with him about baseball and he mentioned cricket. Never heard of it, and I joined. I loved it. My fondest memory was going to Assiniboine Park and we were the only girls team that was there, so we played against a boys team from grade 5! They would just beak at me, and I remember turning around and hitting that ball so far over his head I braked back saying “while I’m scoring points, you get that ball!” It was a great game. Mr. Lovelace was so kind and patient and would always be there to listen. Next year will be 30 years ago that I graduated high school and during this entire time I’ve thought about him so much. Rest in peace Mr. Lovelace ❤️

I first met Johnny as a volunteer at Kingswood GC when I started there in 2013. I was fortunate to have had many opportunities to work with Johnny and play a few rounds as well, as his partner in KW tournaments. He was a wonderful man who always had a smile, shared a laugh or two and to him the “ glass was always half full “ such was his view of every day ! Rest In Peace Johnny, you will be missed

I'm sorry to hear of the passing of one of my favourite high school teachers. I had the privilege of having Mr. Lovelace for English, Math and Dramatic Arts while attending Ste. Anne Collegiate in the late 1970's. He has made a positive impact on so many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Rest Easy Mr. Lovelace.

John (aka Mr. Lovelace or Sir, to his students back in the 1970s) was my high school English teacher in Ste. Anne. He was without a doubt, one of my favorite teachers. I haven't seen him in many years but still think of him often, with only good memories of that twinkle in his eye and his mischievous sense of humour. Our condolences to his family. Rest in peace Sir!

Mr. Lovelace was my teacher at St. Norbert. He taught me to write, a skill which carried me through a Bachelors, Masters and a Juris Doctorate degree. I remember him as a truly caring and passionate teacher who was approachable and patient. I teach my own children writing skills based on the organized method Mr. Lovelace taught me and am profoundly thankful for his early influence in my life. He will always be my favorite cricketer. My condolences to his family, may they feel peace and comfort during this time.
