Obituary of JANINA NOWAK
JANINA NOWAK (NEE DUDEK)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving sister, mother and Babcia on November 5, 2012, at the age of 85 years, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side.
Left to forever cherish her memory are her children John (Pat), Mary, Hania (Ray), & Henry, sisters Freda and Halina, daughter- in- law Linda, grandchildren Terri, Tracy (Darren), Shannon (Peter), Kristen (Rob), great grandchildren Joshua, Noah, Payton, Riley and Aaden, and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Felikcia Cebulska and Antoni Dudek, brothers Jan (John) and Mieczyslaw (Mietek), sister Anna (Hania), brothers-in-law Boleslaw (Ben), Stan (Stasiu) and Adam, sisters-in-law Maria and Kasia, husband Boleslaw and her son Michael.
Janina was born in Zalawiszcze, Poland on February 15, 1927. She married on October 26, 1946 in Weiden, Germany. They Immigrated to Canada in 1951. She worked at Jacob Crowley and Co. until the factory closed in the mid 80’s. She then was a stay at home housewife who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Janina had a kind, gentle and loving soul. You could always find her out in the garden or in the kitchen cooking for her family. She made many delicious Sunday dinners as well as countless perogies, holubchi and pickles.
A special thank you to the homecare workers Rahel, Raelene, Nadya and Alison and her nurse Lana.
Pallbearers are Darren Probetts, Rob Scharf, Peter Placido, Derrick Bracken, Darren Dimitrioff and Mark Nichols.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Emile’s Church, 556 St. Anne’s Road with Rev. Fr. Carl Tarnopolski, V.G. presiding. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.
