Obituary of RUI (ROY) MANUEL MONTEIRO
In disbelief we sadly announce the sudden passing of our son, cousin and friend, Rui Manuel Monteiro. Rui succumbed to natural causes on the evening of March 1.
Rui is survived by his father, Manuel Coelho Azera Monteiro and fur son Roco Monteiro (Bellerose). He was predeceased by his mother, Mother Bertha Maria Martins Costa Monteiro.
Rui was born and raised in Winnipeg and spent his summers enjoying the sun and the lake in Whiteshell with his parents. Heading into his career he got on with Barca Construction, later found an opportunity with JC Construction where he grew his interest in trucking and decided to venture out and become his own Owner/Operator.
Rui was always there for anyone he knew, the best friend anyone could have and protector. Loyalty was the most important thing to him; he would go without to help others and give forgiveness to anyone if you just asked. He loved to be surrounded by and spend time with his friends and wanted everyone to be one big family. He was a big teddy bear who loved everyone and was very grateful for anyone who helped him.
His sudden passing has left a hole in so many people's lives.
Funeral Services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin St North.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, March 12, at 7:00 pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, March 13, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
