Obituary of DOROTHY WINNIFRED SMITH
DOROTHY WINNIFRED SMITH
NEE EVANS
May 6, 1947-March 9, 2020
It is with unbearable sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Dorothy on March 9, 2020 at St Boniface hospital at the age of 72.
Left to cherish her amazing life are her husband, Ron, daughter Tammy, daughter-in-law, Sharon, granddaughters Sarah and Emily, sisters Isobel, Iris, and Bonnie (Garry), extended family and many friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Ruby, brother Sandy, brother-in-law Reg, and her beloved son Rick.
Dorothy had an incredibly open heart and a smile that could melt the ice caps. She always had an open-door policy, and everyone was welcome in her home at any time. She loved being around people, and her long employment as a bartender at ANAF Club 60 brought her lots of good times and friends. She loved her family and brought us so much happiness. She enjoyed her garden, bingo, Clear Lake, Goldeyes games, and a good reality TV night with her daughter. She loved to laugh until she cried. Her warmth and love will be missed forever.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St, on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. If so desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
