Obituary of JEAN KRISKO
JEAN MARGARET KRISKO
The family sadly announces the passing of Jean Margaret Krisko (nee Wawrykow) on June 2, 2020.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter (2007), her parents Francis and Michael and nephews Daniel and Ted. She leaves to mourn her children Kathy (Rick), Len (Lauri), and Greg (Colleen) as well as grandchildren Hayley (Kevin), Brenna (Joshua), Kelly (Zachary), Kelcy, Justin, Cameron (Karlie), Cole and Carson and great-grandchildren Patrick, Harrison and Leah. She also leaves behind her sister Anna Pollock (Walter), brother George (Carolyn) and numerous extended family.
Born August 31, 1930, Jean spent her first 11 years growing up on the family farm outside of Gimli then moving to Winnipeg and in a few years to Portage la Prairie where she graduated high school. She returned to Winnipeg to attend secretarial college and was then employed by the Winnipeg School Division. She married Walter in 1953 and became a fulltime homemaker when they started their family. Though small in stature our beloved mother, Baba and Great-Baba led us through the years with her intelligence and quiet strength. We will always keep her close in our hearts.
A private family mass and burial will be held with Father Bashutskyy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s memory to Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Swimminglymb.org, or a charity of your choice.
