Obituary of MARGARET ADELINE TONN
MARGARET ADELINE TONN
(PETRASKO)
“Family and Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life”
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Adeline Tonn (nee Petrasko), who departed this life at her home on May 19, 2020, surrounded by loving family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Ewald (Ed) Waldemar Tonn; parents John Petrasko and Francis Petrasko (nee Turski), and many siblings.
Margie is survived by her three daughters, Nadine Tonn, Andrea Tonn, and Chantille Tonn (Scott Angus), in addition to her many loving siblings and lifelong friends.
Margaret Adeline (Margie) was born on September 13th, 1951 to second generation Ukrainian and Polish settlers in the lush farmlands of Pineridge, Manitoba. It is here, in a small house on the prairies, surrounded by eleven siblings, bourgeoning vegetable fields and the beauty of market garden florals, Margie would make her place as an individual with incredible physical drive, creativity and a resilient determination to complete any task at hand. In the years ahead, Margie would marry, and raise three unique daughters with great strength and determination; each day taking pride in the beauty of her home and garden, and the gift of craft for which she was so well known.
Margie’s desire and willingness to lend a helping hand to family and friends was always genuine and swift, as supporting and being surrounded by those she loved was her greatest happiness. Seemingly quiet to the outside eye, Margie was a true wildflower at heart, and could often be found as the centre of attention at many family gatherings, laughing and dancing under the great prairie sky.
