Tom was a wonderful Red Cross volunteer. His kind and caring manner was appreciated by many. His generous spirit and endless contributions benefited everyone who came into contact with him.
Sympathy goes out to his family they have lost not only a family member but a great human being.

I had the privilege of meeting Tom at the Manitoba Ag Museum. He was such a character and had such a personable way about him. I looked forward to seeing him every year. My condolences to Ruth and family.

Tommy was on the other shift when I started at Station 6. We all traded days and I got the privilege of tramping a lot of the same ashes as he, and many others, helped me learn my craft as a firefighter. Later, we came together on the same shift as he became my Battalion Chief. We also shared an interest in amateur radio and served together in that field, as well. He was a gentleman, a good and courageous firefighter and a good officer. I will miss his smile and council. No words can change what his family feels so I offer only my respect and condolence. The world has lost an honorable man and is poorer for it but he has left an example we can strive to follow.
