Obituary of STEFANIA WOJCIECHOWSKI

STEFANIA WOJCIECHOWSKI (nee: MICKIEWICZ) Peacefully with her family at her side, Stefania passed away in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on August 1, 2020 at the age of 95 years. She was loved and will be sadly missed but forever remembered by Sons Chester (Georgina) and Alfred (Tammerah) of Boston, USA; grandchildren Yolanda, Chester Jr, (Stefenie) of Winnipeg, and Elizabeth of Boston, great-granddaughter Natalya of Winnipeg and sister Helena and relatives in Poland. Mom was predeceased by husband Peter (Piotr), parents Bronislaw and Helena, sister Bronia and brothers Witek, Mietek and Edek. Stefania was born on February 1, 1925 in Muszykle, Poland. In 1959, with her husband Piotr and their two sons immigrated to Canada and settled in Winnipeg. She held various jobs until she finally obtained permanent employment with Wescott Fashions until retirement. She made many of the clothes her sons loved to wear. Mom was always a hard worker. She liked to keep busy and maintained the cleanest yard with the nicest flowers on her street. She even made sure the whole neighborhood was kept clean. Mom also enjoyed gardening and even in her 90's she kept a beautiful garden. She instilled in her sons the love of gardening and the fresh healthy produce that comes from them. Mom loved her family and always hosted all family gatherings and made sure she prepared everyone's favourite dishes. Many memories were formed around the dining room table. Mom was religious and a life-long member of Holy Ghost Parish. The family is grateful to both Francis Hladki and Dorothy Chartrand for their years of friendship and for watching out for her. Many thanks for the caring staff at the Maples Long Term Care Residence. Pallbearers are David Mislowe, Jan, Walter and Henry Choma, Chester Jr. and Yolanda Wojciechowski. A funeral service will be held at Holy Ghost Parish (341 Selkirk Avenue) on Thursday August 6, 2020 at l0:00 AM with viewing at 9:30 AM and burial at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
