To Gordon’s family
We were truly shocked to read about Gordon’s passing. As a former Atikokanite and fellow Grade 13 graduate with him, I can attest to Gordon’s enthusiasm and zest for life and concern for the things around us. His humour and good nature were always an inspiration to us all. Our heartfelt condolences.

I would like to express my condolences to Gord’s family and friends.
My association with Gordon was as a teacher while he was in high school in Atikokan.
A quiet, intelligent young man with a great sense of humour, probably directly inherited from his mother Marilyn.
I remember him as a sports enthusiast who knew all the batting averages and statistics of every player who was participating in the World Series of that particular year. Loud, boisterous classmates were stunned into silence when Gord would quietly utter the latest statistics to those who would be listening to the game on a portable clandestine radio.
May he Rest In Peace.

Gord, my younger cousin, and I shared our childhood until we both moved away from Atikokan. He was a wonderful human being and I was heartened to read about his achievements in his obituary.
My memories of Gord - The weekends with our families at French Lake beach in Quetico Park in the 60s. We listened to man taking his first steps on the moon on the radio on the way back from French Lake. Gord, loved sports both as a participant and viewer. We spent many winters and summers playing hockey, football, baseball and golf. We played pond hockey behind Gord's after they closed Dunbar rink in our neighbourhood.
Gord dominated strategy games such as Chess and Stratego. It was never much find to lose game after game especially to a "kid".
Gord and I shared a love of fishing and spent many evenings and weekends catching our limit of pickerel at Sapawe Lake.
I will miss you Gord.
Cousin Wally Goodwin

I only knew Gord through his work at Opportunities for Independence, but found him a consummate professional in all that he did, which made me better at my own profession as an accountant. Gord had a seemingly limitless capacity to care for others and I regret not getting to know him better personally. He was intelligent, considerate and a genuinely good person. I will miss him.

Although I wasn't very close to my cousin Gordie, I will remember his laughter, and always having a book or newspaper on hand. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Madeline, his parents Uncle Wally and Aunt Marilyn, Kathy and Sean and their families. Love Marg Goodwin
