Obituary of MICHAEL CARDINAL PINDER

MICHAEL CARDINAL PINDER It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Pinder, aged 82, on October 6th, 2020 at St. Boniface Hospital. He is predeceased by his first wife Monica; his parents Ilene and Clyde, and is survived by his spouse Veronica Gordon Pinder, brothers Keith and Trevor, sisters Jennes and Joslyn; his sons, Ray, Jeffery, and Jason; and grandchildren: Jerome, Tamara, Sydney, Imani, Marzellus, Donovan, Amar and Elijah and numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins: Judy, Murita, Mondex, and others. Michael migrated from Barbados to Winnipeg in 1967 and worked for VIA Rail. He attended Red River Community College, obtaining certificates in plumbing and Residential Electrical wiring. He continued to pursue his love of photography and acquired a perfect score of 100% in his course. He was also committed to the church and his community and attended Holy Trinity Anglican Church since 1968. He was a sidesman and served in other volunteer capacities. Michael volunteered with The Canadian Blood Services for over 20 years, and was recognized by the organization for his many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Barbados Association of Winnipeg for many years, as well as the Council of Caribbean Organizations of Manitoba, The Jamaican Association, and the Afro-Caribbean Association. As loving grandfather, Michael could always be counted on for support and assistance whenever needed. The family would like to thank the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their care and support in the past 2 1/2 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Viewing will take place at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, on Tuesday, October 13th, 1pm - 7pm. A private family service will take place at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, October 14th, 10:00am. Burial at Transcona Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the service will be by invitation only.
