Obituary of EVELYN ZABOROSKI

EVELYN ZABOROSKI December 20, 1931 – October 20, 2020 Evelyn Zaboroski passed away peacefully on October 20, 2020 at 88 years of age. Evelyn was much loved and will be greatly missed by her family and several close friends. Evelyn was the loving mother of Sean and his wife Beata and (extra) proud and loving Baba of her four young grandchildren Harrison, Rhett, Millicent and Jagger – they all loved her back very much! Evelyn was predeceased in 2012 by James (Jim) her husband of 58 years. Evelyn lived all of her 88+ years with much positive energy, she was always very socially active and had many friends. Over the years, Evelyn was quick to take leadership roles in several voluntary positions including many years at the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League and in the St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Parish. She also freely gave her time and energy to make positive contributions to many other organizations. Evelyn was kind, had a very big heart and was always quick to help others. For many years, Evelyn was an excellent bowler. Over the last few years, Evelyn lived at the Holy Family Towers and, even under some mobility restrictions, brought an element of vitality, laughter and sociability to the residents that was unmatched and will be missed. Evelyn’s remains have been cremated and will be interred next to James’ remains at Brookside cemetery. Due to COVID limitations, her family and close friends are postponing any celebration of Evelyn’s life (including Prayers) until such time as gathering restrictions are eased – as Evelyn would want her family and numerous friends to have an opportunity to properly gather and celebrate her life. Thank you to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and the devoted health care workers for their compassionate and dedicated care over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters Winnipeg (https://winnipeg.bigbrothersbigsisters.ca) or a charity of your choice.
