Obituary of WALTER JOE ESCHUK
WALTER ESCHUK
July 31, 1931 – November 14, 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wally Eschuk age 89 years. After a long and full life Wally passed away on November 14, 2020 at the Maples Nursing Home. Family and friends held a distant vigil of prayers and much love for his peaceful cross over.
He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 31,1931; and was an only child to Katherine and Nicholas Eschuk. He married his beautiful wife, Olga Tataryn, on June 11,1955 and was a devoted husband for 65 years. He was also a loving, committed father to their four children Barry (Tess), Patricia (Michael), Teresa and Karen; and took great pride and joy in the lives of his four grandsons Nicholas, Nikolai, James and Maximilian.
Wally, Olga and family spent many summer holidays together enjoying the family cottage in Winnipeg Beach. They enjoyed their retirement years traveling in the winter to warmer climates particularly Hawaii, and spending time with their grandchildren, family and many friends.
Wally was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4138 and a fourth degree Knight of Canon Luhovy Assembly. He was an active member in BVM parish. Wally worked for Temro Automotive but his real love was his bar tending business where he spent many a Saturday night tending bars at weddings, socials, and private parties. His happy, sociable personality was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
There will be a private service on Nov.19, 2020. He will be buried in All Saints Cemetery with his relatives.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MS Society which was his charity of choice. Wally participated in the Winnipeg MS walk-a-thon since its conception.
The depth of our grief mirrors the depth of our love for you. You live on in our hearts forever. Never good bye, only farewell for a time.
