ROMEO (ROY) AUDETTE

Obituary of ROMEO (ROY) AUDETTE

ROMEO (ROY) AUDETTE MARCH 10, 1923 - DECEMBER 2, 2012 Roy passed away peacefully in his favourite chair. Dad took great comfort in his faith, which was deeply instilled by his mother. He sang in the choir, which combined his love of music and religion. He also brought communion to the shut-ins. Dad was always active in the community. He devoted time to the Knights of Columbus and les Soeurs Oblates, among many others. Dad was a WW II Veteran and proudly served with the Canadian Army in Europe. He loved music and dancing; so smoothly that his partners seemed to glide along. He played bingo every Saturday and was always up for a game of cards. Another favourite pastime was baking, always trying a new recipe to share with friends. He also enjoyed gardening, taking great pride in his roses and carnations. Dad was unofficial family historian, and worked diligently for 25 years to have his family properly honoured as Transcona pioneers. His wish came true and we now have Audette Drive. Roy is survived by his brother Leo, sister-in-law Monique, daughter Jackie (Rene), son Paul (Cindy), daughter Gisele (Todd), and his grandchildren, Kevin (Nicole), Chantelle (Tony), Christophe (Cassie), Philippe, Danielle, Amanda, great-granddaughter Samantha, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jill and his son Berny. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Cathedral, 180 Cathedral Avenue, St. Boniface.
