Hi Janina:
Karen and I are both VERY sad to hear about Jim. Like most of us, we weren’t expecting any bad news like this so prematurely. I hope you reach out and make sure you get the support you need as there are many of us (I know) who are here for you to lean on.
In November I think it was, I sat with Jim at BP and I thought his voice and general vitality were a little weaker than before. As usual, Jim didn’t talk about any of his own health issues and as usual, I took the opportunity to get his much-valued, often unexpected and sometimes unique opinion of current topics and events or to discuss my own personal issues and/or views. It always amazed me how he was able to so quickly, easily, clearly and concisely explain what I often perceived to be such complex, seemingly insurmountable problems.
I’ve had a few ‘immediate supervisors’ in my work career at Water Resources and he was among the best; he was smart, capable, easy-going, practical and honest—never failing to acknowledge the existence, realities and shortcomings of our government(s) bureaucracy. He quietly led by example and with his leadership, let his staff shine.
You two made a great couple and I’ll always treasure the times we got together even if it was only once a year at Christmastime. At least we’ll never lose that.
Keep well and let time ease your sorrow.
Your friend,
Alan Skrepnek
XOXOXO

We are very saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. Jim and Randy had a 40 plus year friendship. Lots of time spent together arranging power skating lessons at WKCC, breakfasts at Alica’s restaurant on Saturday mornings, and meeting for coffee at McDonald’s.. We have good memories of our trips to Israel and Italy with both of you.
Jim will be greatly missed. May he Rest In Peace.
Bigs hugs to each of you.

Dear Janina
Please accept our sincere condolences to you and family on the loss of your beloved Jim.
To say that we were surprised or shocked to hear of his death is not a proper statement. The nooks and crannies and hallways of our building will echo with his presence for some time to come I am sure.
We appreciated Jim for his quiet demeanour, for his friendly willingness to help out his neighbour whoever they may be and for sharing his expertise in serving on the Board of the Condo Corporation.
Carol and Have both lost spouses in the past so are not strangers to that type of loss but, having said that, we do not presume to know how you are feeling as grief is personal and individual and has to be experienced by each individual. Having said that, you do not have to do it alone. This is a time to be with family and friends and neighbours in whatever way you can be in these pandemic times
You are not alone. Your neighbourhood shares your grief and we are there for you if you want or need anything.
Sincerely
Ron Craig & Carol Ingimundson

Thank you for always being at every dance recital, band concert, school concert, choir performance, graduation or anything else I asked you to be there for. You were always one of my biggest fans.
Thank you for always believing in me and pushing me to try my best at everything weither it was school or trying to learn to ride a bike for the tenth time. You always made me feel like there was nothing I couldn’t do.
I will never forget the millions of memories we made or traditions we started at Clear Lake with you. Going the wishing well, visiting Morty and all his buffalo friends, walking past where the roller rink used to be “before it burnt down’ and going to the bakery for cinnamon buns and butter tarts.
You were the best grandpa a girl could have ever asked for and I will forever be grateful for you.
♡
Love and miss you always

To Janina,
I was so sorry to hear of your loss, may you be comforted from Above, you and your whole beautiful family.
I just knew your husband a little bit, but even with that little time he already made an impression on me and I
miss him too. I feel his loss not being there at the Condo. He was a right hand man to my Dad and you as well.
My Dad will miss him as well and expresses his sincere condolences to you and your family. Jim was a great man,
a superb human being, I can tell you all know that, again even me who knew him for so little. May you and your
family find comfort and be consoled and be strong going forward.
My Dad and I are making a contribution to poor families in his memory.

My deepest condolences to Janina and the family for your loss. I worked with Jim for many years at Water Resources and enjoyed the Friday BP lunches, where we would almost always solve the problems of the world. I will miss our conversations and Jim's friendship. Big hug to Janina.

They say a daughters first love is her fathers. You have always been there for me and I couldn’t be more proud and honoured to call you my dad. When you passed a piece of my heart broke.
Growing up you taught me to ride a bike, skate, throw a baseball and most importantly math. Thank you for being patient during those rough school years and didn’t do the math for me, it’s certainly paying off teaching Julia fractions.
I will always remember our camping trips to Whiteshell where we would go for bike rides, swimming at Rainbow Falls and long exhausting hikes. For the last 25+ years I will remember our annual trips to Clear Lake. Due to Covid we didn’t think we’d make to Clear Lake this past June with you. I remember calling you the day before you left wishing you a safe and fun trip. You sounded sad that we couldn’t make it. At the time I felt awful lying to you but the kids wanted to make it a surprise we were coming. A few days later we surprised you at the cabin and I will never forget how happy you were to see us. I am so happy we were able to spend one last time together as a family in Clear Lake.
We promise to go to Clear Lake to keep the annual family tradition going. I will ensure to pass along family stories to Julia and Myles that you would tell me. Some of my favourite stories were when you’d say ‘This is where the 1st roller rink was.... until it burned down’. It became a joke as each landmark that you would point out would at some point in time had ‘burned down’. ‘Over here was were I went to school... until it burned down. And over there was the 1st fire hall... until it burned down’.
Dad, we will always have peanut butter toast, a cup of tea after dinner, lines thru number 7’s and recording our gas mileage down in a book.
We will miss and love you forever.
Love Elaine, John, Julia & Myles
