Obituary of FRED MICHAEL GARTNER
FRED MICHAEL GARTNER
FERNIE (FRED) MICHAEL GARTNER of Winnipeg, Manitoba, died after a short illness and brief hospitalization on January 28, 2021 at the age of 79.
Left to mourn his passing are the love of his life, his wife and best friend of 56 years, June Gartner of Winnipeg Manitoba, and his sister Eleanor Ecker of Selkirk, Manitoba. Fred was predeceased by his parents Michael and Rosie Gartner, and his siblings Joe Gartner, John Gartner, Betty Uhranchuk, Theresa Daly and Ed Gartner.
Fred was born and raised in Melfort Saskatchewan. Fred’s second love of his life was his passion for standardbred horses. Many hours were shared enjoying the races.
Fred most recently worked at Dynacare as a driver, and loved his regular interactions with staff members. Prior to that, Fred spent many years in sales. Fred was a gentle-hearted kind man. He always made everyone he encountered feel special. His positive upbeat vibe will be missed by all, especially his wife.
Thank you to the staff at Grace Hospital for their assistance and to Dynacare and all of those who have reached out.
At Fred’s request, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
