Obituary of WANDA MARIE GRABOWSKI (MCKAY)
Wanda Marie Grabowski (McKay)
With sadness for our loss and in appreciation that she no longer suffers, we mourn the loss of Wanda Grabowski, Wife to Stan, mother to her three sons Richard (Amanda), Douglas (Scott), Jason (Sandra) grandmother to Kaylan, Alexandra, Anna, Kacey, Julia and Jasmine. Predeceased by her parents Alexander and Rose, brother Cyril, sisters Cecile and Theresa, survived by her siblings Genevieve, Alfred (Blanche), Pierrette, Tobie (Dawn), Leonard (Hilda), and Brian (Susan) cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
To the last day, Mom wanted to be remembered for her smile and the good times she shared with all. Cancer took her body, fond memories swelled her mind. Born and raised in St. Laurent Manitoba, Mom met Dad in Winnipeg and they spent the next 46 years joined at the hip, living loving and raising their 3 boys together.
Mom was always able to find the positive in any situation and never dwelled on the hardships, instead looking at what can be enjoyed and positively created. During her struggle over the last year she always looked to the small things to enjoy: the tomato in the garden, the smile of a grandchild (all girls), helping in any way she could. A positive word was never far from reach in any situation.
We couldn’t have asked for a better wife and mother. Loving and accepting, always pushing to try new things and offering a comforting ear when needed. Mom is already dearly missed and will always be cherished.
A service will be held in the coming months once we can all gather and share together.
The family asks anybody who has pictures of Wanda to please forward to simply.richard.gray@gmail.com to be used in a presentation when we can all meet.
